WP: Neal Kunik LP: Chris Rupert Save: Sean Dietrich

Friday night scheduled two class B heavyweights battling it out in a rematch of last years' State Tournament semi-final game.  If you missed it, the locals needed a walk off home run in the 11th inning by Chase Hentges to move on to the title game.  Would there be any way to top that contest? The Indians struck first in the bottom of the first.  A couple of walks in the opening frame and a Zak Hoffman hard line drive single scored Matt Conrad and Mark Dolenc to stake Shakopee to a 2-0 lead.  Hoffman would be the offensive star for the Indians collecting 3 hits on the day.

Coming off regular 36 day rest, the Indians sent Chris Rupert to the hill to start this one.  Rupert mowed threw the Bandits the first time through the order then mowed through them again the second time through the order.  In the 6th inning, Rupert faced the Bandits order a third time.  This time however the Eagan shortstop tied the game at 2 with a homerun to left field. With Ruperts night done after 6, John Hellkamp came in relief.  Johnny pitched well but was tagged for a run in the 7th and a run in the 8th. The Indian bats were stuck in the mud after the 1st and Eagan looked to be cruising to a victory.  The locals were thinking walk-off victory again. Aaron Olson led off the 9th with a missle to left to bring the tribe within one.  After retiring the next two batters, Shakopee started to mount a comeback.  Walks issued to veteran Brannon Weigel and rookie Dominic Schleif put the tying and winning runs on base.  However this time the late inning heroics were not meant to be.  Eagan pitcher got a strike out to end the game.
