Shakopee Indians vs Mpls Lakers @ Eden Prairie Round Lake Stadium

Sunday June 8, 2014 4:00PM

The Indians score 2 in the top of the 9th to steal a 6-5 victory over the MPLS Lakers.

Shakopee grabbed a quick 1-0 lead in the 1st as Zak Hoffman plated Aaron Olson with a 2 out RBI single. The Lakers tied it at 1 in the bottom of the 2nd before the Indians scored 2 more in the top of the 5th on another Hoffman two out base knock. The Lakers responded quickly with a 4 spot in the bottom of the 5th.

Trailing 5-3 the Indians needed a comeback, and Aaron Olson's screaming double in the 7th made it 5-4 bad guys. Shako took advantage of a Laker error to get the lead off man on to start the 9th. After an out, Mark Dolenc gets an infield single putting runners on 1st and 2nd when Aaron Olson came up clutch again by smoking a base hit to left to tie this one up. Dolenc and Olson executed a double steal to put runners on 2nd and 3rd before Hoffman delivered a long SAC fly plating Dolenc with the game winner.

Zak Hoffman paced the offense with 2 hits and 4 ribbies, and Aaron Olson also had 2 hits and knocked in the other two runs. John Hellkamp and Brannon Weigel each reached base 3 times.

Nate Brown threw four solid innings before tiring in the 5th. All 5 runs were charged to Browny. Aaron Olson mowed through the Laker hitters over the last 4 innings to grab the victory on the mound.
