WP: #10 Chris Rupert, LP: #17 Pete Ohnsorg, SP: #1 Chase Hentges
The Indians and their cross river rival Chaska Cubs squared off in an early season section matchup. Both teams trotted out their ace pitchers, and neither of them let their team down. Lefty Chris Rupert went 6 innings for the boys in baby blue allowing a single, unearned run. Chase Hentges took the ball for the final three frames not allowing a run while notching the save. Righthander Pete Ohnsorg was the tough luck loser getting touched for just 2 runs in the 8 inning complete game effort.
Both offenses had a tough time solving the pitching. The Indians found themselves trailing 1-0 after a half inning, but managed single runs in the 3rd and 4th innings to get the 2-1 victory. Shako's first run came on a rbi grounder by Brandon Olson. The game winner came on a long fly off the bat of Aaron Olson leading off the 4th.These two teams will meet again on Sunday night at The Joe with the first pitch set for 7:00 PM. The Cubs will be the home team as their field is in a losing battle against the flooding.
