Cubs get revenge in a big way as they thump the Indians 11-1 in 8 innings.
Chaska showed up at The Joe for a "home" game seeking revenge after getting edged on Friday 2-1 by the Indians. The Cubbies sent veteran righthander Ryan Seifert to the bump, and he showed everyone that he has plenty of gas left in the tank. Seifert threw the complete game 4 hitter and was in control from beginning to end.
With the score knotted at zero in the top of the 4th, Indians second baseman Kyle Ryan generated the only offense for the night. After drawing a leadoff walk, KR stole 2nd and 3rd then scored on a Dolenc SAC fly putting the Indians on top.
The Cubs answered quickly and loudly by scoring 3 in the bottom of the 4th followed by 2 in the 5th and 4 in the 6th basically putting this section matchup away. Both teams are now 2-1 in section games and will square off one more time later this summer.
Shakopee has only a short time to lick their wounds as another section opponent heads to The Joe on Tuesday night for a 7:30 tilt. It's Shakopee vs the Victoria Vics which will be another tough battle for the local 9.
