Indians offensive woes continue in 8-1 loss.
The Shakopee Indians bats have gone silent at an inopportune time....right during a 3 game section game stretch. After scoring just 3 runs in two games vs Chaska but still managing a split with the Cubs, the bats remained quiet in an 8-1 drubbing by the Victoria Vics. The loss to the top rated Vics dropped the Indians section record to 2-2 on the season.
The Vics scored 1 in the first on a 2 out solo homerun and followed that up with 4 more in the 3rd which included a 2 out three run homer after a costly error by the Shakopee defense. Victoria put this one away with 3 more in the top of the 7th.
Shakopee did have 2 base runners in both the 1st and 2nd innings and also the bases loaded with no outs in the 5th, but they failed to plate any runs until Zak Hoffman's leadoff homerun in the bottom of the 9th. The hitters left 10 stranded for the game.
The Indians head out on the road this weekend for the Spam Town Challenge in Austin starting with a 7 PM game Friday night vs the host team. Shakopee is also slotted to play again at 2:30 & 8:00 on Saturday as well.
