Shakopee Indians vs Austin Greyhounds at SPAMtown Challenge

Friday June 27, 2014 7:00PM

The Indians cruised down I-35 for a 4th trip to the SPAMtown Challenge.  Only a short bus was needed as once again the local 9 literally only brought nine players.

This year the Indians drew the host team Austin Greyhounds for the first game of the tournament.  The host team is always a tough draw and things didn't start out well from the get-go for the Indians.  In the bottom of the 1st the first 3 Austin batters reached base and scored to take a quick 3-0 lead.  Things didn't get any better as Austin piled on 5 more runs in the 2nd inning putting this game quickly out of reach.

The Indian bats were silent for the 4th game in a row.  The Tribe scattered just 4 hits and advanced nobody past second base.  Troy Wasiloski was the offensive star tallying 2 knocks in as many tries.
