Shakopee Indians vs St. Paul River Pirates @ SPAMtown Challenge

Saturday June 28, 2014 2:30PM

A call for something to solve the offensive woes of the last 10 days was answered when Andy Gibbart showed up to coach third base.  After a quick 3-up, 3-down first inning for both teams, Gibby got the merry-go-round started in the 2nd inning and never stopped.

Friday's offensive star, Troy Wasiloski, started things off with a booming double.  Four consecutive singles followed and the Tribe found themselves with a 3-0 lead.  The first time that has been accomplished in 4 games.

Chris Rupert toed the rubber for the Indians and held St. Paul in check.  Except for some trouble in the 5th, Rupe was solid in a CG performance.

Five Indian hitters tallied multiple hits in this contest.  Greg Cambell "Soup" became the 4th Indians hitter with a round-tripper this year.  His wall scraper in the 6th capped the Indians offense.  Rupert showed all that hitting is not that difficult with two hits of his own including an RBI triple in the 5th.
