Shakopee Indians vs St. Louis Park @ Coors Light Classic

Friday July 11, 2014 6:00PM

The Indians opened up the Shakopee version of the Coors Light Classic early on Friday night hosting St. Louis Park.  Perennial finalists in the Coors Light Classic, the Tribe was not looking past game one.

The Indians manufactured a run in the bottom of the 1st when Kyle Ryan was hit by a pitch, moved to second on a run and hit, then scored on a Mark Dolenc single between short and 3rd.

The Indian bats would look to do "just enough" tonight and manufacturing runs was the theme - as evident in the 3rd inning.  Dolenc would walk with one out.  Then promptly stole 2nd.  The catchers throw went errant but the center fielder was caught napping.  Dolenc cruised around third and scored without much of a play at the plate.  The locals were up 2-0.

Pat Lenton stood on the bump for the Tribe tonight and had things working.  He would scatter 6 hits in total.  But 2 of them came in the 4th inning following a walk.  That would end up leading to the only run St. Louis Park would tally on the night.  Lenton ended up going all 7 innings.

The Indians keeping with the "do just enough" theme until the 6th inning when things were broke open a bit.  Four consecutive batters reached base to score 3 runs.

Shakopee ends up winning 5-1 to keep hopes of playing Sunday alive and well.
