WP: #10 Chris Rupert, LP: #21 Corey Eckhoff, SP: #1 Chase Hentges
For as much of a slug fest we had on Tuesday, we had a great back and forth battle on Friday.
Chris Rupert toed the rubber for the Tribe and was up to the task of trying to calm the Vic bats that came out in earnest just three days earlier.
The Vics struck first in the bottom of the first - but the Indians answered right away in the top of the 2nd. The Indians grabbed their first lead of the game in the 4th. However the Vics tied it up at 2 right away in their half of the inning.
In the 5th, "a wrap around the foul pole" home run gave the Vics a two run lead. Once again the Indians were playing catch up. Zach Bohar knocked in Troy Wasiloski and Chase Hentges to knot the game back up at 4 runs a piece.
Rupert battled through the next three innings scattering just a couple of hits but stranding baserunners in each inning.
In the top of the 8th Bohar would come up big again. With the bases loaded, Bohar launched a fly ball deep enough to score Zak Hoffman to give the locals a 5-4 lead.
Rupert would take it from there - almost. Tiring in the 9th with 2-outs a call for help in the form of Chase Hentges was needed to close the game. Chase faced one batter and got a strikeout to end the game.
Bohar knocked in 4 runs. Wasiloski reached base 3 times - twice on hits and once via the free pass. Wasiloski and Hoffman each scored twice.
