After a week off, the Indians took on the Hampton Cardinals. Luke Bruss got the start on the mound for the Indians. The Indians got off to a hot start at the plate after giving up an unearned run in the 1st. Troy Wasiloski hit a 2 run double in the bottom of the 1st to give Shakopee the lead. In the bottom of the 2nd, the Indians picked up 5 consecutive 2 out hits, including a 2 run triple by Brandon Olson to take a 5-1 lead. Hampton came back with 2 in the 3rd and 4 in the 5th to pull ahead of the Indians 7-5. Luke Bruss went 5 innings giving up 4 earned runs. The bullpen took over for the Indians. Tom Hellkamp pitched 2 scoreless innings followed by a 6 pitch inning from Nate Brown in the 8th to get 3 outs. In the bottom of the 8th, the Indians used timely 2 out hitting to regain the lead. Greg Campbell singled, followed by a Kyle Ryan single, and a Brandon Olson walk. Mark Dolenc stepped to the plate and crushed the first pitch he saw over the left field fence for a grand slam. Dane Secott shut the door in the 9th for the save and the Indians won 9-7. Nate Brown picked up the win.
