On a beautiful night for a baseball game, the Indians took on the Vics from Victoria. Shakopee would give the Indians Alumni a lot to cheer about in this one. Victoria took an early 1-0 lead on a home run in the 1st, but Shakopee battled back when Mark Dolenc hit a double and Aaron Olson knocked him in with a single to tie the game. In the 3rd, the Indians bats came alive. Brandon Olson drove in Kyle Ryan with a triple, Mark Dolenc drove Olson in with a double, and Aaron Olson hit a double to knock in Dolenc. After a Troy Wasiloski single, Zach Bohar doubled in a run. John Hellkamp then drove a 2 run single to give the Indians a 7-1 lead. Victoria put up 3 in the 5th, but Shakopee kept hitting, getting 3 runs of their own. Aaron Olson scored on a Zach Bohar single and John Hellkamp drove in 2 more with a double. Victoria came within 1 run of the Indians with 5 in the top of the 6th, but the Indians scored 1 in the bottom of the inning on an Aaron Olson double. The Vics tied things up at 11 in the 7th with a 2 run homer.
In the bottom of the 8th, the Indians poured it on again with 5 runs. Troy Wasiloski hit a 2 run double and scored on an Alex Bade single. Bade stole 2nd and John Hellkamp hit a 2 run single to make the score 16-11. Dane Secott shut the door in the top of the 9th to get the win on the mound. Aaron Olson goes 5 for 5 with 3 RBI and John Hellkamp goes 3 for 5 with 6 RBI in the game. Shakopee moves to 8-4 in the section with the victory and is in 1st place with a Chaska loss. The Indians play Chaska on Tuesday at 7:30pm in Chaska.
