The Indians faced off against the Cubs from Chaska on Friday night for the first section game of the season for Shakopee. There was a good turnout for this game with Friday being SYBA night. This one would be a pitcher's dual from the beginning. Aaron Johnson took the hill for the Indians and pitched brilliantly. Shakopee would score in the bottom of the second inning when Steve Boldt singled to lead off the inning and scored on a double by Mitch Sellers to give the home team the 1-0 lead. Sellers would be stranded on second, but the 1 run would be all that Johnson needed as he cruised through inning after inning. Johnson would scatter 4 hits throughout the game, while striking out 7 and pitching a complete game shutout to give the Indians a 1-0 record in the RVL East section.
