- The last time the Shakopee Indians won the state tournament in 1959, draftee from Jordan, Fulton "Lefty" Weckman was the tournament MVP. Just so happens that draftee Ryan Seifert from Chaska was this years tournament MVP.
- The last time Chaska won a state tournament was in 1987 and draftee catcher from Shakopee, Tom Schleper was the tournament MVP. I guess the debt has finally been repaid.
- The oldest player on the Indians (Tim Piechowski - a young 43) and the youngest player (Zack Bohar - a mature 17) were BOTH rookies on this years team!
- Indian pitchers Chris Rupert and Tim Piechowski have both been on 3 state tournament winning teams.
- Rupert with Mankato in 2006 (MVP) & 2008 and Shakopee in 2009
- Piechowski with Miesville in 1992 & 1995 and Shakopee in 2009
- Manager Brannon Weigel and PL draftee from Chaska Brad Keenan were teamates on the 1995 Glyndon state tournament team that took 2nd place. Keenan took home the MVP honors that year.
- The last time the Shakopee Indians made the state tournament was in 2003 when they took 4th place down in Northfield and Dundas.
- This was the Shakopee Indians 22nd state tournament appearance-1940 (champs), 1946, 1948, 1957, 1959 (champs), 1960, 1961, 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1979, 1980, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1996, 1997, 2000, 2003, 2009 (champs).

- Justin Johnson lead the Indians in state tourney hitting at .368 followed by Tim Piechowski at .357.
- Aaron Olson lead the team with two state tourney homers, 5 RBI's and a .524 on base percent.
- Chris Rupert lead the staff with a 3-0 record during the state tourney.

- Do you remember that the Indians lost game 1 of their double elimination playoff to Chaska before closing out the section playoffs and the state tourney with 8 straight wins! Three straisght wins in section play before going 5-0 in the state tourney.
