Game 3: Sunday, May 8
Early on it looked very doubtful that the Indians would get this game in as rain was forcasted throughout the day, but Brannon Weigel sent the boys out to fix the field anyway even without their field maintenance general Mike Anderson. It was a good call by Weigel as the skies let up and the Indians were able to get the game in. Dane Secott toed the rubber for the Indians in his first appearance of the year. Secott started the year off like he ended last year, going 4 innings with 8 strikeouts and only allowing 1 run. The offense, after clearing the near flood before the game, open up the flood gates in the first inning, scoring 7 runs on 4 hits, a couple of walks and a couple of Fairfax errors. It was pretty smooth sailing from there! Brandon Olsen paced the Indians going 2 for 5 with a 2B and a 3B with 2 RBI's and 2 runs scored. Kyle Hoover, Zack Bohar and Curt Hartfiel each went 2 for 4. Hoover ended up with 4 RBI's. Newcomer Andrew Mahrol worked the 5th to the 7th inning and Zack Bohar closed the game for the first Indians victory of 2011. Lets hope it is the first of many!
