A wild second inning would be the difference in this game. The leadoff batter for the Chaska Cubs would swing at the first pitch and hit a triple. Shakopee would respond with a double by the speedy Curt Hartfiel and a RBI base hit by the still struggling Troy Wasiloski. In the top of the second inning, Chaska would capitalize on a few base hits and Shakopee errors, putting the score to 8-1. Momentum began to build for the Indians in the sixth when Shakopee Indian Aaron Olson screamed a two-run homerun and Lance Siedow lined a RBI single. Shakopee would continue to have base runners on in the seventh, eighth, and ninth, but was missing the big two-out hit. Tim Theis looked sharp on the mound and prevented the Cubs from scoring-allowing only four hits in his five innings of work. |
