Game 11: Friday, June 6, 2008
Shakopee takes a big win vs. Victoria 5-3 (10 innings) Things started off on the right foot as Joey Heller led off for a bunt single. Mike Dahl would later hit a big two out double to score Joey, and then Mitch Reis would follow suit with a single to score Mike. The Indians would score again in the second inning when Mike Anderson crushed a single up the middle, followed by a RBI double by Curt Hartfiel (also with two outs). With Shakopee being up 3-0, Victoria would score two in an eventful third inning and tie the game in the sixth. Tim Theis started for the Indians and pitched 8 strong innings with only allowing two earned runs. Dan Collins came to pitch in the ninth and had an important one-two-three inning. In the tenth inning, Mitch Ries smashed a double and Brett “sticks” Weigel drilled a two-out (Is there a pattern here?) 2 RBI go-ahead-single. DC closed the door in the bottom of tenth and picked up his first win of the season. |
