Victoria came to visit the Indians tonight instead of the Irish from Green Isle. This game was a make-up game which was supposed to be played June 14th, in the middle of the rainy season. If you thought it was too hot to watch baseball tonight, you missed a classic section 3 matchup.

Dane Secott started on the hill for the Indians and was off from the get go. His first mistake was forgetting his belt. His second was stealing Joey Heller's belt. The last time Heller's belt made an appearance on the mound was in Wahpeton in 2009. Heller and his belt struggled to throw the ball where it needed to go, and so did Dane. Dane got touched up for 5 runs in just 3 innings marking his shortest outing in an Indians uniform.

Three singles in the top of the first put the Vics ahead early. The Indians would answer with one of their own when Aaron Olson singled, went from 1st to 3rd on a wild pitch and scored on a Troy Wasiloski single.

In the 2nd and 3rd innings the Vics tallied 2 runs each to take a 5-1 lead. Chris Rupert came in relief in the 4th and mowed through the Vics lineup the rest of the way giving the Indians offense a chance to get back in the game. The offense did just that. Two runs in the 4th and another in the 5th brought the Indians within a run at 5-4. But that would be as close as the locals would get until the 8th.

In the 8th inning, Kyle Hoover worked a one out walk. Brannon Weigel drove a ball just hugging the 1st base line and the Indians had two on with one out. Dan Harris executed a suicide squeeze to perfection and scored Hoover to tie the game.

The Vics would score one in the top of the 9th. After getting the first two batters out, the Indians committed a near lethal error to give the Vics a breath of air. A normal routine ground ball to short should've been the 3rd out but Weigel couldn't catch the ball. Two singles later and that runner scores to give the lead back to the Vics.

The Indians are set to send up the top of their order in the 9th. Heller and Aaron Olson combine for one out singles. Chris Baso takes a pitch in the shoulder to load the bases. Hoover steps up with now two out and laces an 0-2 pitch to left. Heller and pinch runner Johnny Hellkamp score to give the Indians a come from behind walk off win.

After all the melee of the walk-off win, Secott returned Heller's belt which will be sure to never see the mound again.

We hope you all have a great holiday and come out to watch the locals take on Arlington on July 5th.
