Game 28: Monday , July 11
Shakopee 9 - St. Peter 8

Zack Bohar

Nate Brown

Aaron Olson
... drove in the winning run. ... home run over the left center field wall adding a big insurance run. ... had three run blast.

The Indians owe a big thank you to Governor Dayton tonight for shutting down the government and Canterbury Park. Without that Zack Bohar most certainly would've had to work and miss this game and left the locals looking for another source of offense. Bohar led the Indians offensively collecting two hits - both clearing the fences for home runs. Nate Brown led the Indians defensively persevering for 8 innings.

The first few innings Brownie struggled a bit but the defense was at the ready when called upon. The score could've been much worse than 2-0 after four. After the fourth, he found his groove and cruised though the 5th, 6th, and 7th innings after the offense got going.

In the 5th, pinch hitter Alex Bade led off the inning with a solid single. Bohar stepped up next and delivered his first big blow of the night. The Indians sent 9 men to the plate in the 5th, but scored just 3 times leaving the bases loaded.

With one out in the 6th, Bohar delivered a solo shot to make the score 4-2.

In the 8th, Brown battled through a defensive miscue and a tiring arm. He allowed two runs to score but both were unearned and the game was tied at 4. Shakopee answered in the bottom of the inning with 5 runs highlighted by Aaron Olson's three run blast.

The locals followed the Joe Nathan school of closing games and made things as interesting as possible at the end. Dan Collins entered the game in the 9th and got one out. Bohar came in next and cleaned things up getting two strike outs to end the game. The Saints had the bases loaded to end the game.

The Indians narrowly averted disaster nearly surrendering a 5-run lead in the 9th. However, a win is a win and after losing two tough ones last weekend, the tribe will take what they can get at this point.

Next up for the Indians is a trip to section foe Victoria Vics on Thursday. Alumni night follows on Friday. Finally on Sunday host section opponent Jordan Brewers for the first time this year. We hope to see you at one or all of these games as we always enjoy the support!
