The final regular season league game for the Indians was also the final game of the three game series with Prior Lake. The tribe looking to bring out the brooms but the Jays having other ideas. Tim Piechowski started on the bump for the Indians and was fantastic. Pie went the distance giving up two runs while scattering just six hits and striking out four.

The problem tonight for the Indians was finding a clutch hit leaving 10 runners on base. The Indians scored just one run – the lowest offensive output of the season – had 8 hits total. Not really the production one is looking for heading into the last week of July. Aaron Olson drove in the Indians’ only run on a sac-fly in the 5th inning to tie the game at 1-1.

In the 4th inning the Indians had three straight hits to only load the bases with no outs and everyone was left stranded. The game was knotted still 1-1 in the 8th inning when Prior Lake lined a single into the ankle tall grass and scored the go ahead run. Shakopee could not answer in the 9th and the locals lose a rare low scoring affair 2-1.

Seven Indian hitters notched a hit in the game. Brannon Weigel was the lone multi-hit batter in the Indians offensive attack. However, Pie was the bright spot for Shakopee keeping the Jay’s hitters off balance all day.
