Dundas 9 - Shakopee 8

Brandon Olson

Kyle Hoover

Troy Wasiloski

Curt Hartfiel
... all delivered multiple hits.

The local 9 traveled to Dundas on Tuesday for a final tuneup game before starting playoffs on Sunday. The Dukes took an early 4-0 lead after two innings. Indians starter Kyle Green limited the damages in both innings leaving the bases loaded in both innings.

In the 3rd inning, the Indian offensive attack came to life - aided by a few Dundas miscues. Shakopee sent 11 batters to the plate scoring 6 times on 5 hits. Andrew Zellmann started the inning reaching base on a hard hit ball that Duke's first baseman mishandled then came around to bat again later in the inning and delivered a big 2-out 2-RBI single to give the Indians its first lead in three games.

Dundas worked their way back into the game scoring twice in the 5th to regain the lead 7-6 off reliever Tim Piechowski. In the seventh, Aaron Olson and Troy Wasiloski started the inning with walk and a hit respectively. Olson eventually came around to score on a Kyle Hoover sac fly to knot the game at 7.

The lead was short lived, however, as Dundas scored one run in each the 7th and 8th innings to work a 9-7 lead. In the 9th, the Indians decided to not go away quickly. Brandon Olson drove a ball deep to right field off the base of the fence for a lead off triple. Wasiloski drove Olson home and got the tying run on base. Wasiloski got himself in scoring position by stealing second base. Kyle Hoover delivered a seemingly game-tying single up the middle. But Wasiloski was thrown out at the plate by a fine throw and catch by the Dundas centerfielder and catcher. Game over. An exciting end to the Indians regular season even though the final score leaned in the wrong direction for the locals.

The Indians knocked out 11 hits on the night. Brandon Olson, Wasiloski, Hoover, and Curt Hartfiel all delivered multiple hits.

Shakopee starts playoffs on Sunday, a 2:00 PM game, to be played at Schleper Stadium. The opponent is not known of yet. Come out and support the Indians as they begin their title defense on Sunday.
