- Played an instrumental role in erecting the lights at the Belgrade baseball field
- Led Belgrade to their first trip to the Amateur State Baseball Tournament in 1959

- Coached the Minnesota River Valley Conference Champions in 1967 and 1969
- Played with the Shakopee town team in several state tournaments during the 1960's.

- Proud husband of Rosie Schleper and father of eight children, all of whom participated in Shakopee athletics.
- Coached four of his sons on the Shakopee Indians Town Team
- Baseball announcer for Shakopee High School and Shakopee Town Team
- Received the Region 2AA Athletic Director of the Year Award
- Received the Jim Dimick Coaching Award 1997
- Inducted as a Charter Member of the Albany High School Hall of Fame in 1997
- Inducted as a Charter Member of the Shakopee High School Hall of Fame in 1998
- Passed away on May 8th, 1998...Now he enjoys every baseball game as its biggest fan!
